Image preparation
Image to print calculator
Check the size on paper before sending your image to print.
The calculation
The same pixels can cover different sizes of paper. Resolution defines that relationship.
Width in inches = pixel width ÷ PPI Height in inches = pixel height ÷ PPI Centimeters = inches × 2.54 Megapixels = width × height ÷ 1,000,000
Calculation walkthrough
A 3600 × 2400 pixel image at 300 PPI prints at 12 × 8 inches, or 30.48 × 20.32 cm. At 150 PPI, those same pixels cover 24 × 16 inches. The larger print spreads existing pixels over more paper; it does not create extra detail.
Verify the inputs with your supplier before placing an order.

PPI and DPI describe different grids
Use pixels per inch for image-size calculations.
Why an image gets cropped in the print dialog
The right size can still have the wrong shape.
Image & print questions
Will changing PPI fix a blurry photo?
No. A different PPI changes calculated physical size. It cannot recover missing detail, correct focus or remove compression artifacts.
Is 300 PPI always required?
No. Resolution needs depend on size, viewing distance, printer, paper and image content. Use the print provider's delivery specification.
Do you upload my selected image?
No. The file-reading code decodes dimensions locally in your browser. You can also avoid selecting a file and enter pixel dimensions manually.
Your pixels set the print size.
